Sorellina was hands down our favorite dining experience of the weekend! From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being overbearing, and stayed on top of everything. Drinks were refilled, dishes were cleared promptly, and our food arrived at just the right pace. It was easily the best service we received during our trip to Traverse City. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan with the fresh pappardelle, and it was absolutely delicious. As someone who is Italian and loves to cook, I'm usually disappointed when I order pasta at restaurants because the sauce rarely lives up to homemade. Not this time! The sauce was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The fresh, homemade pappardelle was cooked perfectly. We also shared the Caprese salad, which was made with fresh homemade mozzarella and was excellent. The rest of our group ordered the organic chicken, Chicken Marsala, and Chicken Parmesan, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. For dessert, we tried the cannoli. We dined at Sorellina on a Tuesday during the cherry festival and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Everything was delicious especially the fungi risotto, chicken Parm, crab chowder and the antipasti salad. The prices were very fair as well.

Entrees was brought out while my wife was still eating her appetizer. Entrees were not brought out by our server but a young kitchen helper (I assume) had to wait nearly 10 minutes for our server to come to us and bring us knives and forks (by this time our pasta was cold) that were taken from the appetizer plates. Wine that was ordered for the main course did not come until we were nearly finished with the main course. Nice place to look at but quality all round was not great.

The wait staff was better quality than the food. The pasta and the sauce taste like they are straight from a grocery store shelf. Pasta was cooked al dente which was good. Meat seemed a little overcooked and the dishes a little bland tasting. Not real Parmigiano-Reggiano, just the shredded Parmesan that comes from a bag. They had some Italian wines which was nice. We ate the parmigiano (veal) and the bolognese. They claim to be almost authentic Italian, more Italian-American, but it felt hardly like an Italian Restaurant. Missing the Italian charm. No bread and olive oil at the table. Nothing seemed house made. Food quality wasn’t great. Wouldn’t recommend.

We have always seen this place with a lot of people through the windows and figured it must be great. We all really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was elegant, nicely lit, and had a nice touch of age to the dining room. The server came and took our drink order and we received them after a few minutes, a couple at a time... over the next 15 minutes. So by the time we all received our drinks, those who got theirs first were ready for their second round. Our appetizers were fine... not great, but fine. After we ordered and our food came out, our plates were hot, but our food was barely warm. I had veal, and can't say anything good about it other that it didn't taste bad. When the server came back around to ask how everything was, he kept his back to all of us but one couple and not wanting to make a stink, told him their meals were "good". He never asked anyone else at the table about their meal, because I was ready to tell him. Then a young woman came around to clear some dishe
